WebEOC

WebEOC is the crisis management system used by the Virginia Emergency Operations Center (VEOC) to maintain situational awareness in the Commonwealth, both during routine daily operations and during emergencies. Because WebEOC is a Web-based system, real-time incident viewing and tracking is available to all authorized users with an Internet connection. Examples of the types of information tracked in WebEOC include state shelter data, initial damage assessment data and local situation reports, just to name a few.

Jurisdictions, state agencies, federal partners, other states and various support personnel can enter data and view status boards through WebEOC, without needing to purchase the product. This allows all concerned agencies and jurisdictions to have simultaneous access to the same real-time data, providing information essential to decision making. Status boards can be shared among users, allowing for the interoperability of efforts among all affected during an emergency.

Jurisdictions and state agencies that choose to purchase their own WebEOC licence are able to customize it to meet their specific needs. In these cases, it is possible to enter data on one system and have it forwarded to Virginia Department of Emergency Management's (VDEM) version of WebEOC. This avoids dual entry of data, saving time, effort and money. Links to agency-specific sites, such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS) data and Homeland Security Information Network (HSIN) data, can also be made through WebEOC.

WebEOC is a user-friendly product and can be modified and customized to meet the needs of specific agencies. User IDs are used to control access to WebEOC and to determine what data can be viewed, updated and deleted, ensuring that only authorized personnel have access to sensitive information.

Maryland and the District of Columbia (DC) EOCs also use WebEOC, making the sharing of incident information with our neighbors easier than ever. Virginia also provides information to West Virginia and North Carolina through WebEOC.
